Matariki
What is Matariki?
Matariki is a name for a small cluster of stars, the stars are the signal for them
or an indicator for upcoming events. In 2018, Matariki is celebrated in the 8th
of June in there they gather around and say a farewell for those departed and
it is where they give thanks to the land,sky and sea. They also harvest some
plants at the end of it. The kites represents that they are welcoming Matariki,
according to an expert in traditional Maori navigation the ancestors of Maori
and the Polynisians of ancient history that they welcome Matariki using the
