It’s been 2 years since mom has moved to New Zealand to work there, she said one day

Philippines and New Zealand are completely different countries, culture, people and
environment. So how will I adjust? In 4th grade, I had a feeling that it’s going to be
my last year in school that’s why I made this year the most memorable school year in
my life. I joined the ‘Choir Concert’ which is really fun because we sang some disney
songs which I really liked because I really like to perform in a theatre and it’s like

After our recognition, I went home take off my shoes and lay down in my bed. I know
this will sound cheesy or dramatic but I cried, I recall all of the good memories we had.

My mom came back from NZ so that we can all go together to NZ, I was happy when
she came. As the days past, our flight day is getting closer and closer until it came.

New Zealand was a very beautiful country, when I came that’s all I can think of. The
people are really nice and kind and I so lucky because I go to a school that has really
kind people in it. A year has past and I still go to the same school but I met new friends
and new teachers, I really liked it here. I didn’t expect that I’ll be comfortable in New
Zealand as I was in the Philippines.

ReplyDeleteThank you for being so honest about the move. It is really interesting to think about the differences between the two countries - was school very different? I didn't know that your mum came over to NZ before you, that must have been so difficult! You structured your paragraphs well and sequenced the text well too. There are a few mistakes with tense and English grammar, but your message still came through to your audience. I would love to hear more about the Phillipines and how it is similar/different to NZ!

DeleteThank you for commenting on my blog. The schools are quite different because in the Philippines we don't usually use chromebooks, we use books and notebooks. It is kinda difficult for me at first when my mum left, but she said we needed to be strong. The similarities between Philippines and New Zealand is maybe the people because they're both really kind and caring. The different one is maybe the environment because in the Philippines the streets are kinda dirty, but in New Zealand it's like so clean.
